The Fabrics Guide

All Blackout fabrics are 100% blackout.

The level of light control depends on type of system and level of light control you require.

Fabrics are available in various colour ways – so you can co-ordinate décor.

Some of the Blackout fabric is of high-specification PVC-coated polyester with black internal finish and silver heat-reflecting finish to the outside.

Other fabrics, including a range of PVC-coated glass fibre fabrics, are also available: refer to Charisma Blinds

Fire resistance Standard and glass fibre fabrics manufactured to flame retardant standard BS5438, 1976, method 2 and BS5867, part 2 1980, type B.

Cleaning: Dust clean or wipe the blind using a damp cloth.

Blinds with drop or width above 1800mm maybe either joined by weld or stitched - dependant on fabric. Certain patterned fabric cannot be joined

Made to measure Basic Blackout Roller Blinds

Quality: All our rollers are custom made to measure to the highest standards using only the best components available.

Min Width: 300mm Min Drop: 300mm, Max Width: 3000mm Max Drop: 2900mm

Roller Tube: 27mm, 30mm, 45mm, 70mm or 110mm heavy gauge aluminium

Fabric Width: Approx. 34mm less than the overall width of the blind

Bottom Finish: Straight edge with the fabric locked into the bottom bar.

Bottom Bar: High quality strong and durable plastic or metal bottom bar

Control: High quality smooth action sidewinder control, with child safety "easy break" chain connector

Fixings: Supplied with all the necessary brackets & screws for top, face, & side fixing

Made to measure Cassette Blackout

High specification blackout cassette blind available as manual or remote control. The ranges of fabrics used are specially coated to give maximum blackout. The fabric is retained within the cassette box and at the sides with specially designed side channels with double brushes to prevent light penetration.

Our various systems allow it to be installed without difficulty in both new and existing buildings, either inside or outside of the window openings.

Minimum maintenance colour co-ordinated the aluminium head box and side rails are treated with attractive powder-coated finishes – available in a range of RAL colours.

Head box to be carried on a 47mm diameter roller tube contained within an aluminium head box available in two sizes - 95mm square or 110mm square.

Side channels Robust matching aluminium side rails, size 60mm x 26mm, complete with light-sealing brushes. 35mm high bottom rail and compressible light-seal brush. Finish Head box and side channels to be finished in matching colour - white RAL 9010 as standard. Also available in natural

Aluminium or brown RAL 8019. Special colours are available to order colour (specify).

System can be installed without difficulty in both new build and retrofit contracts. Head boxes can be located either inside or outside window openings and side channels are designed for both side and face fixing.

The controls options

Manual control – to be means of fixed or detachable manual crank rod and gearbox.

Electric control – advanced integral electrical tubular 240v ac motor – giving raise or lower at the flick of a switch or our market leader Somfy with remote control handsets available with one channel or 4 channel operation. Electric blinds can be hardwired or plugged straight into a socket

The control systems are designed to give low maintenance and utmost reliability even under the most rigorous use.
